Reluctant Motion Today

Not sure why I get so impatient and I start looking for escape routes the moment a person begins to talk about a past moment or how they are opposed to something.  It makes me feel trapped against my will.  I try to not feel that way, but I still do.

Not sure why I have a hard time keeping touch with people, but I do.

I feel like social activity is noise which blurs our own vision.  Yet, I experience loneliness while alone and I feel guilt for being reclusive.

It is as if there are feelings or forces that are not there to make sure you are where you ought to be, but only that you continue moving.

Not sure, not sure, not sure…. but I will continue moving.

Archetypes of Socializing

Reflecting on our understanding of socializing.

What do we generally think of when we say socializing?  We think of talking and interacting with one another.  But what is it that we are really doing from a broader, more objective angle?  The answer is in the definition:

1.  mix socially with others.  (this is what we generally think of)

2.  make someone behave in a way that is acceptable to their society.  (this is what we are actually doing)

Now think of the second definition in terms of macro and micro.  This is important because as soon as we think of socializing from the perspective of being a governing/control mechanism the perspective becomes reluctant to light up on the micro end of the spectrum.  Every word we speak to another person has the inevitable ability to influence them toward or away from one’s perspective, which can be called their personal society.   Now we can modify the second definition to fit a micro perspective of socializing:

2.  make someone behave in a way that is acceptable to their perspective.

This is not to negate the former second definition, but to shed light on both macro and micro perspectives of the word.  And being that the micro perspective is the one that effects us at a higher frequency, it seems to be more relevant to our general understanding.  Much of this may seem obvious but the point is to make it more conscious.

note:  Macro and Micro are always reversible due to relativity and perspective.  The governing/control mechanism perspective could be considered micro and the other macro.

There is also a flip side to this.  It does apply to one’s self as well.  We are the programmers of our own minds, though we demonstrate little awareness of this fact.  We may put something out there and if we receive affirming responses, that something will make it’s way into the more permanent seats of our perception of reality, even if we know that we influenced the response to our wishes through incentives or other tactics.

Now for the fun part.

Everyday self reflection with the micro understanding of socializing being an independent marketing campaign to spread your perspective to others and/or to influence/affirm your own.  And remember… Self image is the opposition to self reflection.  Enjoy!

Reflections

Of all the things i can see in myself, by myself, exploring fearlessly through the darkest areas of my psyche…
without your reflection, I can only be lost.

Sleep Walking

We are not aware of why we enable what we do with such great effort. We take pride in an acceptable and encouraged identity in a manipulative social structure. It just feels good.

The show must go on!

The American way is theatrical. The fake politics, the fake social behavior, the fake media, the fake economy, the fake history, the fake holidays and everything else that holds the fake show together can go fuck itself… sorry for cursing. The show must not go on!

Silly Fantasy

The most silly fantasy I have ever heard is that people in power do not conspire against those who are under their power.

Social Labels

Most people will go against their better judgement to avoid getting slapped with a social label. For every better judgement there is a discrediting label which holds no rationale, only social obligation.

Not For Me

It is in a sheep’s nature to be trusting and submissive to its herder. They have no quarrel with hidden agendas. It is all about grazing. Minimal awareness is needed to achieve this state of being. It is a pleasant life, no doubt about it. It is just not for me.

The Transformation of Population Control

It is worthwhile to learn about Edward Bernays, especially if you are reaching for greater self-awareness.  He is the guy who wrote the book on propaganda, literally.  He worked with our government, cigarette companies, and many other entities to transform the way people thought when it came to buying products, ideas, and even values.  He developed his techniques on the structure of his uncle, Sigmund Freud, psychological research and theories.  This is why advertisement appeals to our desires of sex in extreme ways with unrelated products.  The most amazing thing about it is how well it works, even still to today.  Ever since his revolutionary technique was introduced to the masses, the world of consumerism has been kicked into an uncontrollable over drive.  Everybody feels the anxiety of needing more things that we don’t need, even when we are aware that we don’t need it.  It has transformed our sense to believe that is the way to happiness and social acceptance.

That was the first great impact these techniques had, but there is more.

Edward Bernays worked with our government during the cold war.  At that time, the government was trying to figure out what to do about the masses level of fear.  Bernays suggested that their fears could be encouraged and manipulated to have the desired effects.  This is why communism became an exploited fear in the 1950s.  It was used against Guatemala with the help of C.I.A. agent Howard Hunt, and Bernays’ own news company, The Middle American Information Bureau.  Once the people believed Guatemala to be a threatening communistic neighbor, the bombs could drop without internal opposition.

These methods are still being used today.  Our desires and fears are strings that are easily pulled.  I can’t figure out whether it is unrealized by the masses or just accepted as our way of doing business.  Most of my friends are content with being absorbed by television and video games.  When I try to talk to them about things that clearly matter more than staring at flashing pixels, they make condescending remarks and label me as “one of THOSE guys”.  Meanwhile, people are suffering in ways unimaginable due to our ignorance and or apathy.  This is what people mean when they say that many people are not awake or aware.  If you take offense to that, then it means that deep down you know it to be true in yourself, but your constructed identity is defending itself.  Most of us are just a result of manipulation, and that is a hard reality to swallow.

Three Questions

Why did i/you/we/they do that? For what end result? Was it noble? These three questions can be asked countless times in a day and each time it will bring another ounce of clarity.
